Defenders have more misconfigurations than time to fix them. Unlike software CVEs, IAM misconfigurations are hard to triage. How do we know what's actually exploitable versus merely a missing best practice? Pathrunner answers that by demonstrating the escalation, so teams can prioritize the paths that are genuinely exploitable and impactful, and build detections for each step along the way.
Pathrunner has 80+ exploit modules across 20+ AWS services (IAM, EC2, Lambda, STS, ECS, Glue, CloudFormation, SSM, Bedrock, and more) with dozens of interchangeable payloads (credential and HTTPS exfiltration, backdoor role/user/policy creation, reverse shells). The authoritative, always-current counts and the full catalog live at pathfinding.cloud/pathrunner.
Requires Go 1.26+ and valid AWS credentials.

- Dual Interface — CLI and REPL share identical command handlers via adapter pattern
- Decoupled Payloads — Modules query payloads by tags at runtime; payloads self-register via
init() - Workspace Isolation — Each workspace maintains isolated identities, history, and tracked resources
See CONTRIBUTING.md for development setup, testing requirements, and how to add new modules and payloads.
