Every matrix leg failed with: git apply .../patches/snowflake-connector-python/4.8.1/00*.patch: error: can't open patch '...': No such file or directory
- the 4.8.0 test-timing patches were never copied forward. All 5 apply
cleanly against the real v4.8.1 tag (one with a 2-line offset); copied
verbatim, no version-specific text to update.

5.0.0 and 5.1.0 are a different problem entirely, not fixable the same
way: snowflakedb/snowflake-connector-python's own history has a commit
titled 'connector 5.0.0 moved development to snowflakedb/drivers' - a
monorepo with tags shaped snowflake-connector-python/5.x.x. That repo's
python/ subtree has a different test layout (tests/ not test/, so none
of our existing patches apply), a hatchling build instead of setup.py,
and what looks like a new Rust component (Cargo.toml, python_bridge/,
error_trace/) alongside the Python source - a real re-port, not a
version bump. Dropping both from this PR's queue entries so 4.8.1 isn't
blocked on an unrelated, much larger effort; re-add once that's scoped
separately.
