Summary

  • firstSentence in the comparisons utils cut at any period. It feeds the generated FAQ answers and FAQPage JSON-LD, so live pages were publishing fragments like "usage-based credits indexed at $0." (Gumloop pricing), "seat-based (separate builder vs." (Retool pricing), "...EU-U." (Gumloop compliance), "PCI DSS v4." (OpenAI AgentKit, Workato), and "...Opus 4." (Microsoft Copilot, Power Automate). It now ends a sentence only at ., !, or ? followed by whitespace and a capital, quote, or paren, or at the end of the string. Decimals and abbreviations (vs., incl., etc., e.g., U.S.) no longer end a sentence. This changes 13 FAQ answers across 11 comparison pages, and each one is now a complete sentence.
  • Flowise: the one-liner now opens with the August 31, 2026 end of life, so the clamped comparison row shows it. The first sentence of the self-hosting fact, which the comparisons FAQ quotes, now carries the end-of-life caveat.
  • Retool: the lead answer and deployment options now say self-hosting is Enterprise-only, matching the self-hosting row.
  • Zapier: where Agents is described as its own product, the copy now says Zapier is migrating Agents into AI by Zapier, which bills in tasks, and has not set a shutdown date. Cites Zapier's migration help article.
  • lib/landing/routes.ts: the comment now says three consumers instead of two, and /index.md (the root Markdown twin) joins the marketing documents so self-hosted installs send noindex for it. The proxy matcher already runs for /index.md.

Type of Change

  • Bug fix

Testing

  • bunx vitest run proxy.test.ts: 31 passed. I added /index.md to the existing indexing-policy and matcher assertions. With the old routes.ts, the self-hosted noindex assertion fails (expected null to be 'noindex, nofollow').
  • I ran a throwaway script, not committed, that dumps buildComparisonFaqs for every competitor before and after the splitter change. It also prints where the new firstSentence cuts the self-hosting, pricing model, compliance, and multi-LLM facts for Sim and every competitor. 13 answers changed, all from truncated fragments to full sentences. Every cut now ends at a real sentence end. The first run found a cut at "(incl.", which is why incl. is on the abbreviation list.
  • bunx biome check on the changed files: clean.

[Medium impact] The PR appears safe to merge; no new actionable issues remain.

Summary

Updates comparison copy, fixes shortened FAQ answers, and keeps /index.md out of search results on self-hosted installs.

  • Comparison FAQs keep full sentences around abbreviations and decimals.
  • Flowise comparisons lead with the project's end of life.
  • Retool comparisons limit self-hosting to Enterprise.
  • Zapier comparisons explain the Agents move to AI by Zapier.
  • Self-hosted copies keep /index.md out of search results.
